No one thought they were better than /b/, we always knew we were.
And I think moot's going crazy. His puddi thing, /soc/, rawkit lawnchair thing, telling everyone to laugh at /r9k/, then saying let's laugh at ourselves, then finally removing /r9k/. If moot removes world4ch I will be FURIOUS.
Creating /soc/ was in theory a good idea, as it's intended to keep the crap off the other boards. But now he's effectively REPLACED /r9k/ with it. Which makes us think that moot values useless camwhores and insecure scene kids more than he does an actual discussion board.
Sad.

Does anybody know moot's reason for pulling the plug on r9k anyway? He posted on that board more than most others, and it seemed like he liked it.

I agree. In my eyes, he just replaced /r9k/ with /soc/. Except /soc/ has the worst posters on 4chan, with the exceptions of /jp/, /a/ and /b/ in that order.

When in gods name in the last year was r9k a discussion board? It was a circle jerk of hipster whining, alpha/beta bullshit, and tons of dumb ass green text stories. Taking it out back and shooting it in head was for the best. And no one misses /stormfront/

"Son I am disappoint"
Probably due to the fact /soc/ has fulfilled r9k's role, minus the gangbang of whining.
Or, if /b/ is to be believed, related to the Tucson shootings.

I KILLED /R9K/
OH GOD IT'S TRUE
Last night, in this thread on /soc/ about fags(cigarettes) moot came in, and naturally people started to ask him questions, so I asked "Do you actually like /r9k/ or do you think they're all losers?(because he posted a sticky a while ago saying we made him laugh, good or bad, who knows) and then I asked some shit about /diy/.
Moot replied that /r9k/ was a shadow of it's former self...
I KILLED IT, OH DEAR GOD I KILLED, WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
forgive me /b/rothers..oh lord
