Ney Year's costume party

So my friend cancelled his party and instead I'm going to a costume party. I am supposed to dress up as a movie character. Any suggestions so that I don't look like an asshole?

why is it important to the question that your friend canceled his party?  you could have just started out with the fact that you were going to a costume party without the extra background.  unless this is like one of those math problems where they give all of the extraneous information to try to throw you off.
