Frank Llyod Wright designed such a structure some time ago, but we have not achieved such a thing. The mighty Sears Tower (renamed to Wachu Tahkenbout Willis Tower) is only a fraction of a mile, 1451/5280. So, you'd need to stack 3.6 Sears Towers vertically to achieve 1 mile height. Should we add more floors to the Sears Tower, or start from scratch?
