I hate marijuana smokers

Name: misterskidmark 2010-11-02 20:50

I hate them with every fiber in my being. I hate them more than anything else in this world. I have more hate for them than anyone who has hate for something and I assume the rest of my Straight Edge brethren would sympathize with me.

Why do I hate them?

-They are breaking the law.
-They are using a substance that is more cancer-causing than tobacco and more harmful to the brain than alcohol.
-They make up bullshit lies about marijuana being a relatively safe substance and being useful for medicinal purposes despite the fact that there are tons of studies proving otherwise.
-They are influencing the mass media and our culture into condemning anyone who doesn't do drugs and glamourizing this poisonous deliriant of a drug.
-They verbally harass and condemn everyone who doesn't smoke weed.

I would also like to make clear that everyone who thinks weed should be legalized is a pot smoker. And I'm sure none of you Straight Edgers associate with anyone who smokes weed. Thanks for understanding where I'm coming from.

It is very obvious that you are trolling. I've done literally every drug (except for some obscure research chemicals). There is nothing wrong with drugs, just use moderation bro.

LSD? Are you serious? Of course I have done LSD. Who can call themself a stoner if they haven't even tried LSD before?

Nutmeg? Yes I unfortunately have. I'm kind of obsessed with deliriants.

Flyspray and other inhalants are retarded.

So you have done them?

Name: fart man 2010-11-03 5:46

I have never done flyspray, but I have done other inhalants like ether and they are all the same. Inhalants don't even deserve to be classified as drugs. They aren't really drugs, they are just ways to deprive your brain of oxygen.

Marijuana accounts for only a portion of the proceeds gained by criminal organizations that profit from drug distribution, human trafficking, and other crimes, so legalizing marijuana would not deter these groups from continuing to operate.

Under the most commonly proposed legalization regime – one that imposes high taxes on marijuana – violent drug cartels would simply undercut legal prices to keep their market share. With increased demand for marijuana resulting from legalization, these groups would likely grow stronger.

- They are breaking the law

There is a difference between morality and legality. In addition, laws are subject to change. Alcohol was illegal at one point, would you condemn people for drinking?

- They are using a substance that is more cancer-causing than tobacco and more harmful to the brain than alcohol.

Show some proof please, or gtfo.

- They make up bullshit lies about marijuana being a relatively safe substance and being useful for medicinal purposes despite the fact that there are tons of studies proving otherwise.

While I will not debate the medicinal purposes of the drug, many studies actually seem to show that Marijuana is less dangerous than Tobacco and Alcohol (and the death counts attributed to the three seems to show that Marijuana is by far the least dangerous).

- They are influencing the mass media and our culture into condemning anyone who doesn't do drugs and glamourizing this poisonous deliriant of a drug.
&&
- They verbally harass and condemn everyone who doesn't smoke weed.

Most pot smokers tend to be rather chill, bro. I've actually had pot smokers tell me not to try the drug, as my personality would like it too much.

I am not a potsmoker, though I do feel that it is necessary to legalize it for one reason: It does not cause substantial damage to society as a whole when compared to other legal activities. However, the costs of jailing marijuana smokers are high, which is rather undesirable; especially when considering the state of the economy. On a brighter note, the legalization, regulation and taxation of marijuana for personal and medicinal use could create many jobs both in the public and private sector. Any logically thinking democrat or republican would demand the legalization of the drug, if anything for the sheer sake of saving the taxpayers money.

One could have argued the same thing about alcohol in the twenties.

Except...

There was a higher demand for alcohol during the prohibition because it was a rebellious thing to do. While there are cases of binge drinking today, it is most commonly amongst minors (for whom it is still illegal to possess/drink). People who are legally capable of drinking do not binge drink just because it's legal for them to do so, and generally do not buy from rum runners (oh wait, they don't fucking exist now because they're obsolete)

If marijuana were legalized, it would likely take a similar path with what alcohol did (as both are used for similar purposes– to escape from reality), and eliminate a need for drug dealers. Because in the end, why deal with shady businesses if you can go down to a 7/11 and buy a pack of white rhinos?

And there also will not be an increased demand for weed. People don't tend to buy something that might hurt them JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN. If anything, it would eliminate people who smoke weed just to 'stick it to the man'

I'd buy legal brownie ingredients.  Wouldn't smoke though cuz smoking is nasty

Also if it was legal, Lounge would offer opium and red satin pillows to relax on.

Drugs like marijuana and even the hard stuff are being pushed into society because they are part of the breaking apart of the family unit agenda. Parents' sons and daughters do these drugs, and then it later creates strife and drama in the family. This then leads to divorce, abandoned children, "latchkey kids" and various other societal social degenerative diseases, that often leads to an entire generation of children being raised by foster parents, their grandparents (who are taking care of their failed children's children), or an aunt or uncle.

Marijuana may be quite safe, but it can and sometimes does become a vice for people, an addiction, if you will. And those that continue to spread the propaganda that marijuana is not addictive are lying right through their teeth. ANYTHING can become addictive: food, sex, drugs, obsessions with various inanimate objects, etc.

Read the book "48 Liberal Lies About American History" by Larry Schweikart. He exposes the myth that "prohibition didn't work" and the real reason why the Eighteenth Amendment was repealed.

Name: Anonymous 2010-11-13 14:14

Do Mormons smoke marijuana? No. Yet they're the perfect family unit. Do the math.

That's a pretty retarded title, so right away I am suspicious of the content.  If even the title is so overtly political in nature, how can I be confident that the author has a rational scientific perspective, and is any better than some idiot talk radio personality?

It doesn't take much common sense to see how far-left wing biased the history books in our average public schools are.

Name: Anonymous 2010-11-13 15:27

The scientific community tends to be a little left-wing, yet that doesn't mean that their conclusions are not often the most logical.

Name: Anonymous 2010-11-13 15:28

You have fallen into a logic trap.  The "common sense" argument is not favoured by scientific thinkers.  And the textbooks are nothing like how they would be if the ugly dreadlocked members of Rage Against the Machine wrote them.  You sound too influenced by political talk.

It's okay. We know that when you say we copied you, you are actually jealous of the new kid on the block. It can sometimes be hard to move on from the things you love when you are no longer as new or as fresh as they used to be. We feel for you that your site is now overrun by unfunny 15 year olds and will never reach the glory of 2005 again. We know that the reason you're acting out at us is actually because you are just grieving about how /b/ is slowly dying cancer. These are all normal, human emotions. We know that when you say "expect us", you really mean "accept us" It's okay. We will accept you if you just ask nicely.
