human profiles - the basics

A face seen in profile has certain important characteristics:  forehead, nose, maxilla (upper lip), and mandible (chin).  Each of these four features may be unusual in amount of protrusion or recession relative to the the other features.  For instance, some people have a bulbous forehead, while others have a beak-like nose.  When both maxilla and mandible are protruding, you have Whoopie Goldberg's profile.
