Back to school

Tomorrow will be the first day of my senior year of high school. I have never had any friends. I have several goals for this school year.

1) Make at least one friend
2) Be able to talk to BOTH genders
3) Stop sucking at everything in general
4) Get good (Well, passing) grades
5) Get my licence
6) Stop being so fucking shy and work up the balls to apply for college
7) Tolerate my parent's extreme conservative-ness
8) Kill myself if I can't accomplish the previously listed goals

I really do want to turn my life around. I'm extremely shy and have very low self esteem. I have social problems that most of you probably can't relate to.

Has anyone ever been in the same position as me and been able to change?

If you think it's hard making friends in high school, just wait until you get to college. Unless you're some party-going fratboy, you'll have much less opportunities to meet people then. Man up now and make friends while you still can, it'll only get harder later in life. High school is the easiest, college is less nerve-wracking for socially-anxious people, but will present you with less chances to connect with people unless you live in a dorm, and once you're out of college and get a job, you'll realize just how few people at the workplace give a shit about being your "friend" or something, since they only go there to pay the bills, not to socialize.

As for all your other goals, those are all within the realm of possibility. You just need the motivation and dedication for what you set your sights on. If you fail, it's because you didn't try hard enough, not because of external factors. You are in control of your life, and you can change it, for better or for worse. So stop posting on /lounge/ and study for your classes, engage in social situations and assert yourself and connect to people, and try and do everything else you want to accomplish. Being self-loathing faggotry on a 4chan textboard isn't going to solve your problems.
