I am 14. And I am a girl.

So we are on holiday in Scotland. We come here, to this exact flat, every year, and have been doing so for the past 5, 6 years. I know this town pretty well. Would you let me go out on my own to Waterstones, which is maybe 3/4 of a mile away? Bearing in mind that it is a fairly busy town?

Because my parents won't. They are scared I will get raped. Is it 'reasonable' for them to think that - or just them being paranoid.


I know this is a really... uninportant question, but please, I need a second opinion. because I am BORED and I like reading but stupidly I didn't bring any books with me. I know where the book shop is.
