Sounds like a conspiracy?  All the high officials in 1 plane and that plane crashes...

So a brand new LOT Airline Pilot lands on the runway in Warsaw for the first time in his life, once he walks into the office he tells the Chief Pilot, "DAMN! That's the shortest runway I'VE EVER LANDED ON!!!! But it sure is wide!"
