Status vs. Money, what's more important?

Although money comes with status, I think money wins by a long shot.  I don't give a shit about my social status as long as I have my $$$'s.

I never really thought about the similarities between the 2 before, I guess they are comparable.
Does that mean that /vip/ will eventually fall to a combination of spreading their armies too thin, lead posioning and Barbarians?
