Whoa there Gus; are you being serious? Most people's understanding of "Western civilization" is eurocentric and begins with the Greeks, when a more accurate understanding of history would be gained by using the term "Occidental civilization" thereby including the foundations of the eurocentric Western civilization, most of which are attributable to west Asian civilizations that predate the Greeks. Egypt, the Sumerians, the Babylonians, all played a huge part, as did influences from the Indus valley, and other Oriental civilizations. Furthermore, trade and eastern economic superiority played a part 'till the rise of colonialism. Would you call Islam Western? 'Cause it sure started out that way. It's good old western Abrahamic. And don't get me started on what's "civilized". China was civilized while the Europeans were still running around like tribes of red injuns.
Get some perspective.
