Have you ever pretended to be the poster of a post you didn't make???

Urgh...
A few weeks ago, I was on my way back from Durban - it had been a magical day with the girlfriend, and at 1:30am, I was tired and not interested in spending a night in a flat without lights or water - rather drive an hour back home to Pietermaritzburg. Down the freeway, just heading out of the city...
I was first on the scene. I was confronted by a combi (minibus) on the freeway... except it took me some time to work out it even was a combi, it was crumpled in the way you'd expect something to be after going through one of those compressing machines they use in scrap yards. Three other cars were also on the road, all stopped, and in greater or lesser states of - oh my god, what is that on the road? The first thing I saw was... bits, except they weren't red as you might expect but for the most part pale white, and also with random accoutrements - a handbag, a shoe... And then one big piece, and moving...
It took me some time to work it out - what initially appeared as two long strips running from his back like an octopus version of wings were in fact for the first 'wing' one long strip of flesh, almost completely ripped off, and thick, and an arm with the bone completely shattered. The other arm was still good though, and this poor man was desperate for any help - he could see what had happened, the death he was lying in, helpless - and I was stuck, in my car, with enough basic first aid knowledge but no protective gear to help me in a province that is over 1/3 HIV positive. I have experienced helplessness before, but nothing like this. I did the only thing I could - I pulled out my cellphone, and called emergency services.
"Your call is important to us. Please hold..."
For twenty of the longest minutes of my life, I sat by the side of the road, on hold, watching this poor man struggle for his very life. By the time my call was eventually answered, ambulances had already arrived - the police were still on their way, apparently. Without any other options available to me, I drove the long hour home, in silence. I read later that three people had died in that accident, and that one man - a police reservist - was in intensive care in hospital. I hope that man was him. Then I found that the accident had been caused by the combi driving the wrong way down the freeway - given the scene as I saw it laid out before me, I am certain the man I saw was in the combi. I'm certain.
I live in the American Gardens Building on W. 81st Street on the 11th floor. My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
