Looking rich vs. being rich

If you could choose one of the following which do you want?

1) Look rich when you're actually dirt poor.
2) Look dirt poor when you're actually some millionaire/billionaire.

If you know that someone is about to ask you for some money a trick that I do is to ask them first if you could borrow some money. Works a treat on bums. When you see one of these smelly fucks come up to you just say "Hey mate, got any spare change I could borrow for the bus? I really need to get home. No? Well ok, thanks anyway" and then just walk sprightly away. This leaves them confused and by the time their alcohol damaged brains have figured out what just happened you are already gone.
