homeland of golden hamster bombed

An explosion in the Syrian capital Damascus has hit a crowded bus carrying Iranian pilgrims, with dozens of casualties reported.   This terrible event dishonours Syria, the source of all pet golden hamsters in the world, and their fancy coloured, specially bred descendents such as the panda bear hamster variant.

The blast took place near the al-Sayyida Zeinab shrine for Shia Muslims. At least six people are reported to have been killed, including the driver.

It's hard to reconcile that the land that gave us fuzzy little hamsters would fall victim to such madness.
