Taiwan puzzle pirates jailed circa 1986

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-11 0:38

In Taiwan in 1981, 300 factories where copying Uwe Meffert's Pyraminx and even more were copying the Rubik's Cube; it was a hard and costly 5 year fight.  But in the end we won:  the Taiwan Government changed their Patent law and did what no one believed possible -- overnight they locked up the owners of each copy factory for two years without a trial, thinking if the Boss is in Jail the factory will soon close and this worked like a charm.  According to senior people in the China Intelligent Properties office, this time round the China Government is not just a lot of bla bla and that the new patent and copyright laws passed last December will be strictly enforced.
