Did you know the Japanese, who historically did not use chairs, have had a much lower incidence of hip injury in the elderly, due to frequently getting up and down, and thereby having strong muscles for getting up and down? As chairs have become commonplace, Japan's incidence of hip injury in the elderly has been steadily increasing. This is a direct correlation between chair use and hip injury. As such, if one did not use chairs at all in life, one would not have difficulty getting up and down from floor seating.
