Best post I've read here for a while. Of course, the eternal september of 4chan will slowly migrate onto the text boards, but thankfully as there are no links to it on /b/ and only on the other boards (I came here from /g/) There is at least some degree of waiting before discovering the place.
The text boards are a different animal though, there seems to be absolutely no moderation (which for now I like) and the post count is much lower than the rest of the place (Not that that means it's higher quality most of the time). Signal to noise is high, but when a signal does come through it's usually more worth listening to.
I have to say my favourite aspect of these boards is the permanence of them. The ability to look over threads from the boards inception and see how it has changed is a great feature, totally unimplementable on the image boards for obvious reasons. That is another reason why I hope that newcomers here, after posting a load of shitty comments for a few weels, will lurk past the first page. Again, the signal to noise ratio is extreme, but the number of comments next to each thread should give some idea of whether or not any discussion took off.
Thank god that there are no links to here on the front page of 4chan, otherwise there would not even be this level of conversation.
So basically, just keep trying to discuss things in a proper way (I liked the thread about the fucked up bible stories, and contributed the one about how jesus throws a hissy fit when he gets no figs) and maybe the cancer can be stopped from spreading here quite as quickly. Of course it will end up here, there is no cure, but I think we might have a little longer, and there will always at least be the fact that the people who come here must have been on 4chan for a while, and must have started lurking other boards before they came here. This stops most of the idiots, although not all.
I can't help but wind up milkribs though, his resistance only makes my penis harder. Everyone needs a larf...
