Watching a documentary about people really loving their cars, I recognized a pattern: On the one hand we had a guy who had a monogamous relationsship with his car, and on the other hand we had a guy stalking parking lots naked at night, banging cars in the tailpipe, thinking this act, described as "rape", was "beautiful", and who shouldn't be allowed to drive because he could get fantasies about cars as soon a they pulled up next to him.
I compare this to the pervert I met on AnonTalk (which apparently bans anyone complaining about this kind of behaviour, so I don't advise going to that failure of a site). All he could think about was the kids he met as he went to the store, or kids playing outside his windows, and how to put his plans to fuck them into reality. Why his kind wouldn't be allowed to teach seemed very unfair to him, because that prevented him from being surrounded by these sex objects all day long.
Based on some lose calculations, these perverts are less than 1 on every 20 paraphiles, but obviously they get all the attention. I don't think it's not the paraphilia itself that makes them act this way, because the rest of us can still act sensibly about our preference. The way I solve it, is to have my gf dress up and act as a little girl once in awhile, or close my eyes and imagine she is one, and I generally avoid little girls to avoid complicated feelings, but these feelings normally doesn't develope before getting to know them during a longer period of time. It could also be that 1 in every 20 heterosexual persons are perverts too, but don't cause as much headlines as the paraphiles do, as they can easily go to bars where their fiddling is more or less accepted.
No, I think that what makes the perverts act this way, is some kind of love hormone imbalance, paired with a broken or lacking behavioural control, and who knows, their paraphilia might even be a symptom of this condition, and if you bring this imbalance down to normal levels, they have a good chance of becoming heterosexuals. Don't confuse a symptom with a disease, however. You normally can't cure paraphilias.
I guess it's good to identify what kind of people I'm generally being confused with. I don't think that the perverts are as dangerous as people going around seeking "witches to burn" and thinking you should hurt the weak or different. It just think that people should draw a proper line before they talk about helping harmful people, so that they don't confuse a harmful group with an innocent one. I've seen shrinks trying to "convert" pedophiles first hand, and the silly subjects they talked with me about would have been much more relevant if I would have been stalking kindergardens.
