Carry a bag of coarse salt where ever you go. Ice will have no chance.

When driving, or walking? I hate when there is ice on the roads where I live because nobody knows how to drive on it. I saw a woman driving on an overpass with he break lights flashing, almost like a strobe light. She obviously had one foot on the brake and another on the gas. "Surely if I hit a patch of ice and spin the best thing to do is slam on the breaks and jerk the steering wheel as hard as I can in the opposite direction the car will right itself, right?"

Buy some wool socks and pull them over your shoes. That way you won't slip on the ice. That's what we do in Denmark.
