Laptop CPU Temp

Name: Anonymous 2009-01-01 14:14

I have a Dell Vostro 1500 that has been having some problems in games (crashing video driver). I thought this might be caused by heat problems as it takes a while to happen.

So I installed SpeedFan and ran CPU Burn-in - this is probably not the best test as it does not stress the graphics but anyway:

My CPU is getting up to 75c - Should I be concerned about this? If so what can I do? I have the laptop back raised with a book to let in more airflow but this still has the high temperatures.

Reading toms hardware they say 75c is the "red line" for a Core 2 Duo...

One of the cores is also always hotter than the other at similar CPU usage/idle - is this a problem - sometimes 4c.

BTW: Graphics card is Nvidia 8600M
