What I'm referring to is the writers' sad attempts to connect Chrono Trigger to Chrono Cross as they tried to validate CC's "sequel" status.
-Lucca finding Serge at the end of the game in a tacked-on animated cutscene?
-Dalton -- you know, Dalton, the guy who was easily beaten in every single encounter with him? -- claiming that he'll make Porre into a nation capable of beating the likes of Crono, Marle, and Lucca?
-The tacked-on battle with *gasp!* Lavos and Schala after which Magus is thrown into Serge's time with his memory erased?
I can barely believe they did any of these with a straight face. Look, I get it. I understand Square's desire to somehow prove to their fans that Chrono Cross' story didn't suck hard. I know they want to say that CC was actually a great sequel instead of an ill-conceived attempt to write Chrono Trigger's story into Radical Dreamers. I know all this. But I don't freaking care. This does not make feel like giving Chrono Cross another chance. In addition, I now harbor a grudge against this game and its writers for adding non-sensical content in an attempt to patch their non-sensical sequel.
I do not intend this topic to start some sort of lame "flame war" or whatever. I also understand that reasonable discussion about CC is impossible because of the strange support that it seems to have garnered on these message boards. But I could not let these absurd add-ons go without some murmur of protest.

As I'm aiming for having sex with only one girl lots of times, my average is way to low for my liking. I was a terrible loser: Girls just had sex with me for a week before moving on. I'm glad I finally found a girl who stayed.
