how to tell bosons and fermions apart

OK, now bosons have integer spin, and fermions have half-integer spin.  But here's the thing:  NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK SPIN IS.  It is the name that they gave a term in the equations, but no actual spinning is said to take place.  That's right, particles have intrinsic angular momentum without actually spinning.  WHAT THE FUCK
