What exactly did Jesus save us from and how? "HE DIED ON THAT CROSS SO THAT WE CAN SEE LIFE AND NOT DEATH". I don't understand, what does a man dying on a cross have to do with the way things work? Nothing. Jesus has no relevance to the way things work. Life is about choosing the correct way and virtue, not getting lucky and picking which Deity died on a cross for you.

It's based on the ages-old idea of blood sacrifice. You see in the animal kingdom, for social animals the alpha male gets dibs on the meat that the pack has acquired. The human species is able to imagine spirits of ancestral alpha males, or a great unseen alpha male, and will sacrifice (make sacred) an offering of meat. Even in the Bible, the god of the Jews was more pleased with Abel's pile of dead animals than Cain's vegetarian offerings. Giving the alpha male meat appeases the alpha male, and stays his wrath and antipathy toward you. However the god of the Jews was really fucking pissed off when Eve got Adam to eat that fruit. He really held a grudge on that. No amount of sacrifice could appease him. Even the god of the Jews decided that this shit is crazy. What could he do? The only sacrifice worthy of making things better would be the killing of himself. So, he had to take a human form and get himself killed. That satisfied him, and we never heard from him again.
to prove that christ really existed is difficult to prove. believers say that he exist in our hearts, i like putting believers to a tests and its seems that christ exists only when they want something from you. why can't we just "pay it forward"? i learned nobody will really be selfless enough, unless they're are your parents but still they wont be stupid enough to let you leech on them. each will be having their own self-serving motive. I still want to believe that the world is still the ideal world that i was taught back in nursery, but seeing a street kid selling flowers in front of a cathedral with gold plated altar kills my belief in christ. there is no moral authority in the church anymore, it's so hypocritical for the church to ban gambling while they'll be holding raffle draws or bingo drives. it's so fucked up.
somethings i realized too
1. the tower of babel is like the internet, when different cultures commune, beliefs clash.
2. church is like the government. back then, christian soldiers manage the people, these are usually knights, church mobs (zealots who'd burn people for their different beliefs) liberalization makes everything easier to manage. it's easier to blame it on the individual for their weak resolution rather than the church's weakening hold on people's morality.
3. religion is like monopoly. the more people you have, the more money pours on the center of that religion. it's difficult to understand how religous cities are able to spend on their grandiose structures if they're not producing anything.
i wish i dont get excommunicated or executed by this.
