yet there are no posts on /lounge/ lamenting this fact, indicative of the way that the redesign of 4chan's front page has starved our beloved /lounge/. :( Very disappointing.

What makes you so sure? Lurkers don't post so you don't know about them. I was a lurker before, for quite some time in fact, and I am pretty damn sure there are people out there that are like the me in the past, still lurking.
