My friend says he just got banned from 4chan. It didn't even give him a reason, and its a perma-ban. Whats up? I'm a newfag, but I thought everything goes on 4chan??

WRONG! Even chaos has rules you must abide by. For instance, no child porn or furries. No advertising. No posting unrelated crap in boards. No imitating moot. There's many others, but you'd best check the rules for safety. And even then, you still are not safe from the ban hammer.
