Why does this happen?

So I was sitting at the lunch table with this girl I don't really know to well, but I've had her in a few classes over the years that I've known her. We don't hang out or anything and see each other for only about 1 hour and only during school. So I was sitting down minding my business when she starts talking. This isn't unusual as she usually talks about stuff that I don't give a shit about, but this time she went too personal.

"I almost had a seizure on Monday so thats why I wasn't here if you were wondering. And it really sucks because my sister has  and she's having surgery to fix it on Halloween and she loves Halloween."

I'm just there staring at the table wondering what the fuck I'm supposed to say. I wanna say "oh man that sucks" but when I say it it usually sounds like I'm being insincere so I tried to avoid that. I don't wanna bring up some diseases that my brothers or family has because then it'll be like I'm making a competition of it or something. So i just sat there and said "oh man that sucks." and she said "yeah". That was fucking it. That was the whole fucking thing.

Does this happen to anyone else too? Thats some really personal shit and I don't really care. Hell I got problems too and I want to talk to them with someone but that ain't gonna happen. Does she want me to feel sympathy for her? What do you say to in a situation like that?

Does this same type of thing happen to you with other people as well?

If I had to take a real guess, it would be that people basically are not afraid to open up to you. Maybe you're a good listener or maybe you seem like an approachable person. Maybe you're special and you have a "gift" as well.

Or it could be that she would like to get to know you a little better and she doesn't exactly know the best way to go about that. I don't know why, but I get this feeling that you usually sit alone at a table during lunch and she usually goes over to the same table and eats with you.

If this is the case, then maybe she is attracted to the lonewolf type, if there are even girls out there who are like that. Or, she fears the lonewolf type. In her mind, she is either trying to prevent a school shooting by befriending you, or at the very least, trying to cover her own *ss in case it happens anyway.

I remember way back in the day when I was reading about the Columbine shooting, I remember that the 2 shooters did have some friends at that school. And I can only guess that those friends weren't exactly being targeted when the duo went on their shooting spree.

That is one of the problems with Earth human beings. They fear the unknown. More specifically, they fear anyone who doesn't exactly "associate with the pack". One thing I definitely noticed during my stay on this planet is that loners are looked down upon here. I even had to experience this kind of treatment myself. Such an ironic planetary species. They have a natural tendency to group together and socialize with other humans yet they still decide to harm each other.

They don't realize that not all loners are necessarily bad or crazy. Some of them are simply introverts who simply just need to be left the f*ck alone. Not everyone on this planet likes people. Another lesson these humans here could stand to learn.
