Some cut themselves because bleeding releases endorphins which can potentially give a pleasant rush. Better than the warm, fuzzy feeling from drinking alcohol, better than the relaxing yet jittery feeling gotten from smoking a cigarette, better than the high from other more hardcore drugs. People who do it aren't necessarily depressed and just like the feeling of it. It also increases one's threshold for pain and allows them to do things they've never been able to do before. It isn't necessarily harmful either as long as the cutter doesn't hit any blood vessels and gives some time for their wounds to heal before going at it again.
On the other hand, there are many attention whores who do it and then show off their scars/cuts because they love getting attention and sympathy, which is pathetic, and that leads many ignorant people such as yourself to believe all self-injurers are like that.
In conclusion, you need to shut the fuck up because you have no idea about what you're talking about.
