Start ramble:
So, tonight I said to myself (and to Supersonic on MSN) "right, tonight I'm not going to listen to any Hi-5 or Nobuo Uematsu", which is basically all i've listened to for the last few weeks. So, I put my playlist to shuffle and let it play.
You know what... this just... sucks...
Here's what I'm ognna do right no, as I type this; I'm gonna skip the current track, see what comes up, then I'm gonna write a line about it here. This should help explain my point (if I in fact have a point. I'm not so sure myself):
First track: Linkin Park - P5HNG ME A*WAY I used to kinda like Linkin Park, thought they were okay. But you know, I don't give a damn about them now, angsty bastards. Why I still have this stuff I don't know. Man this is boring.
Second track: Nightwish - Astral Romance I still like Nightwish but most of the tracks I used to like are boring me now and the only tracks I still really enjoy are the ones I've simply not yet spammed to myself much yet. I've never sat through this track all at once properly before, and you know what, I can't be arsed to this time either. Skipping track.
Third track: Guns N' Roses - Don't Cry I used to love this song, but right now I'm just thinking "hey you know what, this is nothing special". It's just a bit depressing and that's it. Fuck this shit, skipping.
Fourth track: Blink182 - The Rock Show Man I used to play this 30 times a day. Now I don't even know the lyrics. Really, I don't know what the fuck this guy is going on about now. In fact I've not heard any Blink182 for months. Screw it, skipping again, this is boring me already.
Fifth track: Dido - Thank You Man is this over-played or what. Well, not on my playlist it ain't, but it is in general. I think. I dunno, not listened to the radio since last November. This is kinda dull. Meh, I'll skip it in 30 seconds.
Sixth track: Feeder - Just The Way I'm Feeling This is lame, Just A Day is a much better Feeder song. Skipping.
Seventh track: Busted - Can't Break Thru Oh fuck this. I used to think Busted were funny because they were so bad, now this is just boring shite. Skipping.
Eighth track: Lacuna Coil - Comalies You know this is the first time I've even heard this track? I bought a few LC albums a few weeks back and listened to the few tracks I already knew, then not touched them since. I really dunno what's going on with this song, and actually you know what, judging by the intro it'll probably just bore me. Skipping. Wait, is this in Italian? Oh fuck this, skipping.
Ninth track: Evanescence - Even In Death Ah, first good track so far. I'm still gonna skip it though because even though it's good, I've heard it too many times now and it somewhat bores me.
Tenth track: Goldfinger - Spokesman I don't even remember how this got on here. Man this is genericly dull. Fuck this, skipping.

And you know what? My comments about those... that's how I feel about 99% of the music I have, now that I think about it. Really, my playlist is so boring...

And that's it. Seriously, the only CD's I've played recently have been Hi-5 and rarely Wishmaster. That's it. And if you look at my Audio Scrobbler stats, you'll notice that Hi-5 have become my #1 most played artist on my PC in the space of about two weeks. They weren't even in my top50 before, now I'm playing them 544 times a week and have taken them straight to the top. And the weird thing is, I didn't even mean to. That's just me naturally playing them. I have never played any band this much ever before except when I've purposefully just wanted to spam them. I didn't even noticed I'd played them so much until I checked my AS stats a week or so ago.
See, Hi-5's music is the only stuff that doesn't either bore me or depress the shit outta me. Really, these are the first few CDs I've owned where just picking them up of the CD rack instantly stops me from feeling my usual depressed self.
So welcome the new, happier me. Hopefully.
I've always, since I can properly remember, been listening to Evanescence. They've always been my #1. Until now it seems. A year ago, the prospect of a new Ev gig made my brain explode. now... to be honest, I couldn't be bothered to go. Seriously. I've heard all their music a million times now, I can predict what the next album will be like, I've met them, I've seen them perform live on a number of occasions... I just... honestly, I don't care too much anymore. Certainly much less than I used to.
On the other hand, working as a moderator on the Hi-5 forum is great, because despit the recent bugs, if someone breaks the rules, you can just kick them out, simple as that. That's how it should be really. Too many new forums I see have this crap about being fair or whatever. They may as well not bother putting in rules. Hell I just went and 'tested' the staff on EvBoard.com - man are they crap. For a start half their staff aren't even active on the forum stats (a big no-no, as the more staff that show up the more secure a forum looks, and thus the more likely people are to use it), and secondly, they just blantantly gave in. I pointed out who I was and why I should be banned, and the stupid newbies did - something any experianced admin knows you shouldn't do as it gives trolls the idea they can get you to dance in circles for them. And OHNOES, then some paid member came and sucked up to the staff and gipped me off. Wow, I didn't see that one coming. Seriously the staff there are so predictable it's annoying. And it's not like they've even got prior mod experiance, it's like they were all just hired based on how tall they are or some crap like that. It's forums like that which make me want to chuck every PC in the world onto the moon then blow the moon up. There are way too many crappy, boring, badly-staffed forums around thes days.
And thus, after 5 years, I must admit I can no longer honestly say that Ev are my favourite band, and nor can I honestly say that I just watch Hi-5 for the comedy value.
I gotta admit, those five Aussies have something special, something I didn't think any band in the world had, and I'm not just talking about Charli's purdy smile. Nah, rarer than that. See, Hi-5 are the first band I have ever heard which actually make me happy, rather than just depress the fuck out of me. And not a single song bores me either.
I don't actually know what I'm trying to say. Really, I don't. I'm gonna go get somthing to eat.
Oh and if you read all that, you can have a muffin (actually you can't, because I always say that after a long entry but I've never actually given anyone a muffin bar one person about a year ago).
