Did anyone ever stop and think that the paths through life in all aspects of life come down to two basic directions.
POSITIVE DIRECTION: keeping the emotion out of it and/or striving for long term satisfaction
NEGATIVE DIRECTION: putting emotion into it and/or striving for short term satisfaction
OK, now for some examples we can all relate to:
-If I let emotion rule me and call her 10x a day, short term satisfaction is achieved, but long term satisfaction is not when she LJBFs me eventually
-If I kill the emotion and call her 1-2x a week instead, no short term satisfaction cuz I really want to talk to her, but long term satisfaction is achieved when I end up b***ing her
-If I seek short term satisfaction by eating all this crap food and not going to the gym, long term I get fat and don't end up as happy and strong of a person
-If I sacrifice the food and hit the gym, no short term satisfaction, but long term satisfaction is achieved when I do become the man that I want to be physically
-If I let emotion rule me and tell my boss he is a jerk, short term satisfaction is achieved, but long term satisfaction is not when he fires my a$$ or overlooks me for that next promotion
-If I kill the emotion and think of a way to tell my boss I don't agree with him without calling him a jerk, short term I won't feel as good, but long term satisfaction is achieved when I keep my job and even gain a little more respect from the boss
Apply this to something you are thinking of right now, anything, and let's see if it applies... I bet it will..
