help me understand why rascism occurs

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-06 6:00 ID:3mNW927f

as i've grown older i've tended to avoid asking many why questions cos the answers are too complex. but i'm interested in this one too much.

i think the reasons are probably different in different historical contexts. in the UK i can see (thought not totally agree with), why people are anti-Islam, with the attacks n media hype n so forth.

and i can see why older people looked down on blacks, cos when they entered the UK they came into the working class, and so the tendency for crime n so forth would have been greater, hence a bad reputation.

but now with loads of respected blacks in prominent positions, people are still rascist. is it just because they look different, and people dont generally lyk things that are different? is it as simple as that?

WOW you're way of the mark. Xenophobia makes up very little of the reasons why racism occurs, srsly. People in general, in western society, have always loved new and exotic things and have most of the time embraced them eventually or openly from the begging (Look at faggotry for example!). This though hasn't happened so much for other races, well it has but it also hasn't. The only reason people accept other races on the whole in general is because of the media issue and the social stigma attached to being "racist" or as a result of liberal brainwashing/indoctrination within the education systme and pretty much in every facet of our lives(Blame it on the Jews?). Thats all. The reason why racism itself exists and what drives it is primarily a survival instinct. This survival instinct plays on the fact that you will always be better off with people of you're own kind. This is irrefutably true. This is the reason why Lions dont hunt with cheetah's and vise versa, even though they are of the same species (Humans - Niggers/Crackas, comprehending?). It isnt so much a fear of the unknown; ignorance, rather knowing whats best for YOU! Look up "White flight" for example.

These notions though don't ring true in all cases as with everything.
