actually it was during the post depression alot of immigrant groups were put into the jobs that we now associate sterotrypes do.
Irish were general labor
Italians were placed in construction
Jews were placed in offices and accounting
It was because that anglo saxon america didnt want to lose thei jobs to immagrants so they were placed in these positions to keep them happy while similtaneously keeping native born whites woth their jobs.
