OH FUCK, FUCK FUCK FUCK!!! :( Help!

I just logged into my old email account for the first time since last November. To my horror I discovered that this one guy I've known online since 2005 has sent me an email which is dated November 27th, 2006. Long story short, I thought something had happened to him because he hadn't replied to my last message for a long time and so I never checked my old account especially since I managed to get a Gmail account.

So now I'm just thrilled to see that he had sent me a message after all and I want to reply to him so badly, but I don't know if I should since it turns out it was me who had disappeared. It might seem a bit awkward, just suddenly coming back after months of absense, you know.

Any advice, /lounge/? Should I contact him or just let things be the way they've become?

If you want to talk to this guy, then tell him what happened. Just fucking tell him that you forgot to check your old account, and thought he hadn't replied. But then you checked it and there was an email.
