Homosexuality as population control?

So, here's the debate: homosexuality is currently, for the most part, considered strange, or, by some extremists, "unnatural". But is it really? Our overall population is about 90% higher than it should be currently. Is it really a wonderful idea to promote the family lifestyle of marrying somebody of the opposite sex and having your own children? Same, of course, goes with trying to "cure" infertility. There's something to be said about adopting a child who already exists and possibly exists in undesirable conditions. But if we take out the "moral" factor of "Gott/Allah/Whateverdeity made a man and a woman so that they could go forth and multiply" by pointing out that shit got us to where we are now, and our species is going to slowly be strangled and starved out in some horrid Malthusian nightmare when our resources are depleted, what other arguments can be had that can't be solved with the usual "If you hate it THAT much, then why are you watching them kiss/makeout/have mad, gay sex?" response?

I think gay sex as a population control is an excellent idea (of course I'm gay myself).

Another way would be to legalize Prostitution. All of the major cities should have a special redlight district under careful guard so the prostitutes won't be abused or taken advantage of. these aren't going to be your everyday dirty street walkers, these will be highly respectable women. They'll be paid fair wages, have decent medical care and special clinics for them. And they'll have their reproductive organs augmented so they aren't spitting out more fleshbags.
