okay. im studying in one of the best universities in my country, proud to say, and im taking up Information Design. For some reason, it's under the "FineArts Studies" umbrella...

anyways... so far it's been great, i love the classes and stuff. But, since we've started with the Design courses, i've been severly unmotivated...

I want to Do and learn art, almost all my life, i wanted to be an artist. not really designer. I THINK i have chosen the wrong track here, the only reason i chose this course, was because, "hey, since they dont offer a 'real' FineArts course here, i guess ID is the next best thing.."

so, ya.. one of our design teachers advised that I "Stayt away from your artistic side, it will ruin your formal work".. what??!

hrmm.. i dont make much sense.. do i?

although, pursuing a career in design, proves to be more profitable, stable and advantagious.

bah..

what matters more to you?

happiness and less money
or stable job, not as much happiness and more money?

also, just a warning, if you ask here on 4chan most people (americans = biggest capitalists in the world) will tell you to go with the job that earns you more money and laugh about arts & humanities.
you only live once, choose wisely if you don't want to regret anything on your death bed.

>>1 So, you chose to go to "one of the best universities in [your] country" that DOESN'T have a course for the THING YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO?
What the hell? You've already made the decision of happiness and less money or stable job and more money, but not as much happiness. You chose to go to a fucking great University, so you'll get a better job and more money. Instead of considering the option of going for happiness and choosing a University that isn't as grand, but that has the courses for what you want to do.
Jesus.

Do whatever you enjoy more. You'll be better at it, happier and that'll help everywhere else. Put money worries as a close second and you'll do fine.
