What's the point of marriage?

I don't need to be married to have sex, right?  And I don't get any extra money for getting married, plus having to risk losing half of what I have.  So, this is a total ripoff.  Am I the only one who thinks this way?

We do think linearly. I hate waking up > I'm hungry > I hate work > Sex > I hate work > I'm hungry > Sex

And it kinda goes on like that most of the day.
