LUElinks is a website created on May 8th, 2004, by Marcel Laverdet. Its original purpose was to provide a "safe haven" of sorts for GameFAQs users to post controversial and material that went against the GameFAQs Terms of Service. The original idea was to have special "LL Codes" that could be posted on the GameFAQs board Life, The Universe, and Everything. A member of that board could then copy the link and paste it at LUElinks, thus gaining access to the unallowed material. The site then developed into a community unto itself, with the message boards getting hundreds, if not thousands of posts an hour.

The purpose of LUElinks is to contribute URI's to the database in order for members to view and rate them. The site also has several social message boards, as well as a few special-interest boards, such as the Homework Help board. Overall, the LUElinks community can be a bit immature at times, but every now and then, one can find a highly interesting or humourous topic or link. There are several notorious users on the site, and usually have several catch-phrases associated with them. (IBKM, Caldor Rule, etc...) The majority of the content linked on the site is either against the GameFAQs TOS outright, or borders on this fine line. However, as the site isn't affiliated with GameFAQs, users cannot be banned on GameFAQs for anything they do on LUElinks. If someone Narc's against LUElinks on GameFAQs, though, chances are that the LL admins will ban them.

The most universally accepted rules on LUElinks are the Terms of Service, which contains this one line: "Do not be an ass hat. I will ban." The other rule is the Caldor Rule, which states:
* 8) The Caldor Rule: Saying you're going to do something, and then not doing it.
o If you make a post on the forums claiming you're going to do if happens... you must go through with it.
o Obscure typos will be disregarded...
+ Example: If this topic gets 1 post, I'll donate $100 to LEUlinks.
+ If that topic got 1 post, the user would be required to go through with it, despite the typo
o Secret topics are annoying and stupid. Anything after the "---" is not part of your message
o Loop holes will be shot down. I'm LlamaGuy, I make the rules. At any moment I will retroactively change any of the rules if anyone thinks they found some cute way to get around them.
o If anyone violates this rule, and it's not something a moderator will see anyway (i.e. on a smaller board)... please make a topic on the Complaints Department linking to the topic at hand. Provide screenshots, chat logs, and what not.
o Statements that fall under the Caldor Rule:
+ If this topic gets to 200 posts, I'll donate 50 dollars to LUElinks
+ The third poster in this topic gets my MP3 Player
+ If the White Sox win the World Series, I will eat a sock.
+ Since these statements require LUElinks to do something for a reward, or require a certain event to happen, they fall under the Caldor Rule
o Statements that do NOT fall under the Caldor Rule
+ I have three fingers
+ There is a hot picture in this topic
+ The Eagles won the Super Bowl
+ Since these statements do not require LUElinks to do anything, or do not require an event to happen, they do not fall under the Caldor Rule
o In summary, do not make a topic saying that you will do something if LUElinks meets a certain requirement unless you fully intend to do it.

A private site created in May 2004 with boards created by LlamaGuy, strictly for members of the message board LUE only. It has since developed into one of the few spinoffs that offer more than simply boards. The interface is similar to that of GameFAQs, but several features are added, most notably the abilities to vote on links and receive tokens for adding good links. The private site became so popular within the first few months that CJayC requested access to the site along with the GameFAQs staff to know what was happening at the private site. LlamaGuy denied giving CJayC access to LUELinks, therefore causing LUELinks to not be mentioned on GameFAQs (and later for its link to become a banned word). There is a running joke among LUELinkers that whenever someone asks for the URL for the board, they all claim that the site does not exist.
