They run a tight ship and don't put up with shitheads. The forum has thousands of users at any given time, and while necessity of certain individual bannings is debatable, the forums are generally better to read because of the moderation. There is also a probation system where a user is prevented from posting for a certain number of hours. This can be more effective than a ban, which isn't really a ban, because the banned user can pay another $10 and be back. The real ban is called permaban, which is fairly rare.
