What kind of criminals do you want? I used to paint a lot of graffiti lots of my associates are into more hardcore stuff I have heard some raw stories.
Because they might be extremely depressed. they may have a completely unnatural existence (think how we evolved from apes, who were free, social beings) into spending our lives couped up in buildings, following routines, working ect.. Any animal would go mad.
They may feel like an eternal sleep. Or perhaps they even feel like a burden, or a bad presence people would be better off without.

This isn't a joking matter. I tried to commit suicide after my grandfather died, but thankfully I didn't, and now that I look back on it, I was foolish. I have a wonderful girlfriend that will someday be my wife, a loving family that supports my every decision, and (hopefully) a career in writing books. Why the hell would I want to kill myself? It's just stupid.
