it's cuz there are so many people there and so many subforums, any day when you are looking for something to do, you can find a thread to keep your attention for a while or learn something from some guy, or yes even find something funny in a thread.
also they used to have file sharing forums, and that was a big attraction
the paying part sucks though, I paid $10 but I'll fucking be damned before I pay anything more god dammit

offtopic isn't really free, you can register for free but they charge you for other shit. and it sucks badly. something awful isn't a bad forum persay but the way they mod it and the fact that they charge you for stuff is ridiculous and stupid, and the only really funny/worthwhile forum is so stuck up it's own ass with snobby and elitism they it's not fun to post there (fyad). and don't give me the "you don't get fyad" routine. i do get it but you shouldn't have to gain the respect of random people on the internet in order to post on a pink forum.

This is much better. As someone who really didn't like Adbot (he just annoyed me, I still think it was a great idea) I think this is definitely a way better alternative, especially the adbot-for-people-who-want-it option. Awesome work.

By the way, if you join, prepare ahead of time if you want an avatar. BECAUSE THERE IS NO AVATAR SETTING. Instead, they call the thing you can get a "title", which can be plain text, HTML that sets font information for the text, HTML that points to a picture you have that you want to show up as an avatar, or a combination of HTML and plain text. So you have to learn some HTML ahead of time if you want a custom title (avatar). If you think that you could just set it later after joining, THEN IT WILL COST YOU ANOTHER FIVE FUCKING DOLLARS to do it anytime later. If you set it at the time of joining, then the ten dollar fee will be enough. But note, soon they are boosting the basic join fee to FIFTEEN FUCKING DOLLARS

You either haven't seen many, never been in the forums themselves, or just being a dick. The place generates a lot of content, and of course not everything is the best. It's like TV, you can find shows you like. If you can't, then it's like you just don't like TV at all, which is retarded. I've seen stuff from FARK and Worth1000 which both have some stuff I like sometimes, but for the mix of general skill and humour style, I prefer SA. It's not like I'm saying it's always fucking fastastic or anything, I'm saying that saying it's all crap is not true in my experience.
