Why people refuse to believe God exist

There are alot of Christian topic being formed all around but no one has yet said their reasons why they don't believe in God.

Is it just because you can't see God that you feel he don't exist, or because you feel nothing should be greater than humans, or you don't just want to believe God exist?

I don't believe the christian god exists because the concept of him is nothing but a logic anomaly. I think that the idea of god is meant to control and placate the people. God as some benevolent beardy man in the sky is ridiculous to me. Even outside of religion, I don't believe in god for the fact that it conflicts with by belief of existence (that being solipism). I think that the reality about creation/existence/death is far beyond human understanding and more importantly, my inhibited comprehension of reality.
