Why people refuse to believe God exist

Name: caithvalentine 2006-11-15 10:47

There are alot of Christian topic being formed all around but no one has yet said their reasons why they don't believe in God.

Is it just because you can't see God that you feel he don't exist, or because you feel nothing should be greater than humans, or you don't just want to believe God exist?

The keyword to this topic is 'believe'. Seriously, I don't understand how and why people believe in something out of faith. Until you understand the fact that religions are based on a mere belief, and a lack of good evidence if any at all, then I frankly can't help you.

I don't believe in a god of any religion since there is no evidence for a god of any religion. No offense to all them jews, buddhists, christians, muslims, and hinduists out there (etc). Your religious texts hardly count as evidence, and you have to face the fact that they're full of contradictions, scientific inaccuracies, and mythical stories. Do your research with an open mind, don't just be spoon-fed by your religious leaders, religiously-biased teachers, or family. Think for yourself.

There seems to be only evidence that religions are simply spinoffs of older religions before them. It all originates from human's nature to seek answers to the unexplained, and to feel comforted about the fact you are going to die (and various other things). That thing you continually feel that is superior to you and think is god is nothing probably but nonsense created by an over-reactive temporal lobe.

EDIT - I challenge the gods to kill me this very instant to prove to the world that they are real. I'm willing to make that sacrifice =P.
