Why cant people take things more seriously?

so we're playing a casual game of baseball, and I tell people that we need a 1/4 mile pregame jog, but they dont want to and they tell me im gay for going on one by myself. Then later, i go 100% on every play, no matter the odds, and they tell me to calm down. Why can't you strive to be your best in everything, give 110% and take everything seriously?

It doesn't really matter how they act. You'll reap the rewards for your hard work. They won't reap anything if they aren't putting anything in.

It's like how obesity used to piss me off, when I realised that they're only going to die anyways, after a miserable and short life of immobility, all completely voluntary. Then it became a subject of lulz. Like how them being much worse players than you will also be a subject of lulz.
