What's so wrong with rape?

I just don't get it. How bad can some genital stimulation be? How is it any worse than someone holding you down for 10mins? How much can you punish someone for it? Isn't it like punishing someone for forcefully feeding you a very delicious meal when you didn't want to?

I don't think it's about not being in control for those 10-15mins. We are controlled all our lives (by parents, teachers, government etc..) for things which effect us much more and are much less pleasurable than genital stimulation.

As far as the psychological damage is concerned, it's just BS made up by society. If the victims aren't socialized into thinking how bad it really is I don't think they would really give a shit (speaking from experience). Socializaion are supposed to help us from getting hurt not make up stuff which has no real basis. If it has no physical or logical consequence, I don't think it should even be considered a crime (all other crimes like murder, theift etc. have legidimate direct or indirect physical basis).

(assume liberal use of lubricant, a condom and no physical abuse for the length of this discussion. Physical abuse is a seperate crimes and should be dealt with seperately)

I wasn't really "raped" per se as a kid, but when I was around three or four I was forced to go off with an older neighborhood girl to an old storage shed in the woods.  She'd proceed to dress and undress me, try to make me call her mama, try to get me to pee in a bucket (never did) and try to get me to "take a bath" in a wheelbarrow full of nasty rainwater and leaves (never did that either).  Basically, I was a doll for some insane little girl (and ugly and fat, covered in blisters, before any of you comment about that being an ultimate fantasy) for about five hours out of every day. 

I fucking hated that, never trusted anyone because of it.  I still want to punch the fucking meandering pig ladies I see go through Wal-Mart to this day because of it.  I can understand what rape is, what it does to people who undergo it.  I was never conditioned to believe that what happened to me was wrong, I just knew that it was.

Rape is an extreme form of control, control by someone who doesn't have your best interests in mind.  It's instinctive;  it forces the same stimuli that are usually used only in situations of trust.  Humans have been using rape as a form of control for conquered people for millions of years.  It's meant to be utterly demoralizing, destroy one's sense of worth, and bind you to the will of the person doing it.

Rape is what it is.  I don't really think society had much of a hand in creating it. 

And it sucks.
