Booze for Japan

Japanese customs allows me 3 bottles of booze.

I'll be there for a while so, what should I take?
I've been told scotch is rare/expensive in Japan.  Anything else?

For the most part, liquor is cheaper in Japan than it is in America.  However, beer is quite a bit more expensive.
