How important is sleep to you?

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-06 16:45

Seriously, I 've been wondering this lately.

I dont really see sleep as something important, Just more of something that has to be done but other people I know( My brother for example) thinks his sleep is way important for him to function normally( For him that is playing video games all day long ), I mean...I dont go to bed untill around 2-ish most of the time and then get up at 6 to get to work, I dont notice the lack of sleep after working for about an hour.

But do other people really notice it?/Fall asleep again, Or anything else?

Just wondering if its weird to not feel sleepy after only a few hours of sleep mostly.

i barely sleep (4-5 hrs a day) for one week, then the next week i struggle to wake up after 10 hr sleeps. I think sleeping too long is a waste of time though

I hate to sleep, so I do it as little as possible. If I get tired I drink coffee, and I usually stay up all night till around 5 or 6am when I can't focus my vision on the computer/video games anymore, then sleep till sometime between 9:30 - 11:30am. Sleeping is a waste of time that I could be spending playing video games or working or learning something or posting on /b/ that /b/ sucks nowadays.

When I was a kid & a teenager I use to polyphasic sleep, although I didn't know it was called polyphasic sleep was when I was a kid. I thought it was normal and my family was just realy lazy.

Ironicly the only time I slept "normaly" (as in, slept at night for 8 hours and got up in the morning) in my life was back when I was homeless; because after the arcade, video game stores, bookstores & library closed I had nowhere to go and nothing to do, so I'd sleep untill they opened again.
