Simple really, we encourage (loosely) organized crime and poor underclasses. If you don't believe me check how many welfare benefits you can get without even having to prove citizenship. Poor people kill each other for stupid reasons, rich dumb white kids want to be 'cool' like the stupid poor people, because wiggerdom is the biggest fad since The Beatles. You add all this shit up, you end up with more gun crimes.
If you wish to attribute it to our 'loose' gun laws, check the stats on how many gun crimes are committed with *legal* firearms.
As always, it has little to do with written law, and most to do with cultural standards, practices, and beliefs.
