The F-bomb

So I've definitely been in a few situations where I've been having a casual conversation with someone and they'll just say "fag" like it's no one's business, yet I can't say that I was particularly offended. I have a gay friend who doesn't fail to correct anyone who uses that word, but to me, it doesn't seem necessary. Anyway, I was just wondering what you all do when people say "fag/got" around you. Is there any correct way to handle this situation?

might I add that I'm not out yet, and people wouldn't guess.

People who are comfortable with their sexuality tend not to freak out about these derogatory terms with sexual connotation. If somebody calls me, a straight guy, a fag, it doesnt bother me. What does fag even mean? FAG = "Ha ha you are GAY. YOU LIEK BOYS."
And if the person you are saying that to DOES like boys, then well, ASTUTE FUCKING OBSERVATION. When someone rather innocently lets "youre a fag kid" slip out, who cares? Calling me a fag doesnt make me gay.

>>15, humanist love-freak, get over yourself and your ideas. People use this word on a daily basis. In the gay community they toss it around all the time, just like black people toss around "nigger". It does not matter. It is not worth the time to "educate" random people on how "fag is a hate-word"

god shut the fuck up.
