Japan is not a religious country, but people go to shrines on New Year's Day and go to Chrisian church when they have a wedding. When they died, a Buddhist priest comes and the funeral is held in accordance with Buddhist rites. In a sense Japanese are so generous to many religions and accept many religions as they are. But it is very stragne for non-Japanese.

When Japanese enter a house, they take off their shoes and put on a pair of slippers (scuffs). It makes non-Japanse tired. But it may be helpful to make the rooms clean.

Japanese people are extremely insular and racist. They regard themselves in extreme esteem, glorifying anything domestic. Foreign culture is seen as exotic and a symbol of global influence, which only returns to the theme of group identity--a people whose scope is global and prominence is omnipresent.

It is said that Japanese are shy and too sensitive to to others. They have group-oriented mentality.
I have known the interesting fact.
Many Japanese are interested in blood types. They think of persons with A type blood as shy and introverted. But the good poin of A type persons is that they are hard working, serious and considerate to others. Interstingly enough more than 60% of Japanese people have A type blood. In terms of the blood type, it is no wonder that many non-Japanese feel that Japanese are shy and not open-minded.

The contemporary Japan is an autistic society, where people only concern about their own lives, and interaction with reality is considered dangerous, or even bad.

In Japan people give Chritmas presents to thier family or friends on Christmas Day. Especially children get a Christmas present from their parents. Some kindergartners believe that Santa Claus comes to their home at midnight and put a Chrismas present near their bed. But when kids go to elementary school, they know the truth, that is, their parents put a Chrismas gift by their pillow.

Japanese love eating raw fish. It makes Americans so surprised. Japanese eat fish mainly caught in the sea, but Americans eat fish caught in the lakes or rivers. The fish which was caught in the lakes or the rivers doesn't taste good if you eat it without heating up. So Americans feel that they can never eat raw fish. But oceanic fish is so tasty even if you eat it without heating up. I love grilled fish the best, though.

Raw fish is gross and I have eaten many a fish freshly caught from the sea. Cooked ofcouse. Fish smells fishy.
everyone thinks foreign things are exotic.. thats what exotic means
when i was in japan they were all like wow gaijin lets all give him attention and shit, but there was no discrimination and they were all pretty polite
of course they might be thinking otherwise inside, but that doesnt concern me
being in china for a week was kinda different though, all the young men and boys stared at me and sneered and shit
Many people think Japanese are cold to non-Japanese, while Chinese and Koreans are very kind to foreigners. Whe I took a trip to Korea, China, and Japan, I felt it is true. Japanese are the coldest people to foreigners.

liar
im korean and chinese are assholes to every foreigner, its pretty nice in korea (south). never been to japan.
Japanese try to avoid talking with foreigners, so it's no wonder some foreigners feel that Japanese are cold-hearted, but they want to talk with foreigners at heart. But the language barrier makes them shy. The difference of the sentence structure between English and Japanese is so huge that it's impossible to ordinal Japanese to master English.

japanese is like an east asian mirror to european languages
try chinese or korean, there's no grammar, words can be noun, adjective, verb, adverb at the same time, and everything is made up on the spot and only understood through context

In Japan there are a lot of video rental rooms where you can watch porn videos and masturbate. Even many married men go to the rental rooms to watch X-rated video, because they don't have to worry about their wife's or children's eyes in that room. To watch videos about two hours you have to pay about 16 dollars. Are there this kind of rental video rooms in other countries?

And I quote: "try chinese or korean..." et al.
If you don't know about Korean then don't make playground hearsay statements about it.
How good at you at Chinese? Not at all I bet. Probably the same for English, seeing how you type. Chinese and English share nearly the same grammatical structure. All languages are in context and can be made up on the spot, fail for dumb statement.
Japanese doesn't mirror a European language at all. Object placement and verb diction, as well as conjugative structure in the language families share little to no relation.
You do know that Korean shares vocabulary and grammar structure with Japanese, right? Only difference is that Korean has a far simpler pronounciation system in which symbols are linear combinations of phomatic morphemes--whereas Japanese depends on two sets of morphemes (hiragana and katakana) with modifiers the conjunct pronounciation of phomemes.

Fails for thinking everyone's the same person.
"Chinese and English share nearly the same grammatical structure. All languages are in context and can be made up on the spot, fail for dumb statement."
Fail.

Add jargon to obvious statement, fail.
