I guess I am a pusher since I worked there and my cousin bakes the stuff right to this very day... sucks though, they went the way of the shit american chains and started not baking from scratch.
They have a vague understanding of Tims but only a few understand its importance. I too lament the shift in policy where Tims now just makes the donuts in a factory and ships them now.

So is anime illegal in Winnipeg (or maybe something else) or has nothing ever come out of that thing? The thing with the guy getting charged for having lolicon.

child pornagraphy is considered child pornography in Canada, even if it's just hand-drawn comics or manga with no real children involved. thus, lolicon is the same as taking pornographic pictures of children, and punished accordingly (up to five years in prison, i believe.)
stupid law.

um, what?? The man in question was arrested for importing lolicon, not for simply owning it, and was spared jail time due to the fact that no real children were exploited. From the court's decision, we can deduce that lolicon is clearly not considered the same as child porn in the eyes of the Canadian court.

allow me to interject that child pornography laws were made more strict only a couple weeks after the case in question, and not all criminals get punished to the maximum extent of the law.
lolicon==child pornography is not in doubt. the criminal code of Canada makes no distinction between hand-drawn child pornography and normal child pornography.

I guess I can't waltz on Parliament with my Canadian rights to bad manga. But what about Shonen Jump, i bought a used copy for 50 cents and it had boy and cat penises in it. Is that worth 5 years too ?

I'm not Canadian, but I used to like Canada. Not anymore though.
