Giving anime a try

So all anime fanboys I know are faggots. And up to now I hated anime. And Dragon Ball Z sucks. But I thought to myself, if so many /b/tards like that stuff, there has to be something to it.

I want to give it a try. What should a noob watch?

Preferably something with few or no tentacle rape.

on the subject of Rahxephon i find it funny to know end seeing people bash this series because they believe it copys from Evangeleon, where as i havent seen Evangeleon properly, Rahxephon and Eva are both great shows
