Haven't you had any interesting experience recently
or haven't you read anything impressive article in a
newspaper or a book?
Anyhow what's on your mind now?
Talking to yourself is also OK.

The number of confirmed dead in the tsunami
disaster has been over 120,000. The worst-hit
nation, Indonesia reports 79,000 have been confirmed
dead.
I think there are a lot of earthquakes everywhere in the
world. In 2005 we may have a hard year. We should
prepare for natural disasters.

We use 12-animal Oriental Zodiac. According to the
Zodiac, this year is the year of the Rooster.
I hope I'll have a better year this year. On New
Year's Day, it was so fine against the weather
forecast. It may be a lucky year.

I wonder why there are so many trotters everywhere in the
world.

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-01 13:03 (sage)

Oh, not trotters but trollers. But why is there a line break?

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-01 16:14

It's weird. It's January 1, New Year's Day, and we've got every window in the house open. It's 60 degrees outside. What the heck?

The supermarket in my town tried to id me for soda pop. I bought a 4-pack of jones cream soda, and I guess the clerk thought it was vodka or something. Considering this town's been 'dry' up until the beginning of december, I'm not too surprised.

I've been wondering if the same person has made
world4ch BBS and Japanese 4-ch. I think this kind
of message boards are getting more and more popular
everywhere in the world. It originated from 2-chan
in Japan. I think or hope this kind of boards will be
helpful for people in the world to understand each
other.

4-ch.net and world4ch.org were made by different people. Their history is pretty complex, but basically there are two groups of people who moderate the two websites.

Also, you should say "2channel" rather than 2-chan, because most Americans associate 2chan with Futaba Channel (2chan.net).

Also, you should say "2channel" rather than 2-chan, because most Americans associate 2chan with Futaba Channel (2chan.net).

Most users on 2ch mean 2channel when they say 2-chan. Get used to it, they won't change that just to please us Americans.

Funny I should say that as I am not an American.

According to an article I read this morning,
the number of the newborn babies has been sharply
decreasing in Japan, and in 2500 it will be less
than 10 million, which is one-tenth of the present
population.
What will become of Japan in the future?
Maybe a lot of people all over the world will come to
Japan, and Japan will be an international nation.
It may change for the better. Now it's very difficult
for people from other countries to live in Japan,
because Japan is a homogeneous nation and people
don't get used to accepting people from other
countries as they are.

I will come over and help make more babies for Japan! :>

The death toll caused by the huge tsunami is now over
150,000 people.
Mad cow diseases, Chicken influenza, Sars. What will
happen next?
By the way, "tsunami" is a Japanese word.
That means English-speaking people don't have the
right word for "tsunami", doesn't it?

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-01 22:11

In the Atlantic, instead of tsunami we have ushionami (English: tidal waves) which are not the same thing.

We are blessed with fine weather even on the second
of the New Year. Now I'm going to a shrine,
where about one million people pay a visit. Maybe
I have to wait for the gate to open more than two
hours. Because people cannot enter the shrine at
the same time. People are divided to enter the
shrine. We have to wait for our turn to enter.
I don't like waiting, but I love looking around more
than 100 small shops in the shrine which have been
temporarily made for some days.
I want to drink sake at a stand and enjoy New Year's
atmosphere ASAP.

Oh, it came back. It's the last day for my Christmas break.
I took many days off, so now I don't want to get back to
work. But I have no choice.

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-02 20:47

When I get out of school, I won't have any breaks like this at all...
It must be neverending stress. That's why it's important to have a job you like.

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-02 21:37

I've come to that conclusion. I only have 2 years of school left, so I guess I'll enjoy it while I can.

Luckily, I don't go back to class until next week, hooray.

Now I'm gonna go to a rental video room. What videos should
I see? I saw almost all nice videos.

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-02 22:25

You could see Suicide Club. Or maybe you aren't in the mood for that... a romantic movie, then.

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-02 22:26

In Canada or America or any countries do you have
rental video rooms, where you can rent some porn
videos and see them in a small room alone?

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-02 23:03

Only at some porn-exclusive stores. That would be a creepy thing to have at a video store!

I ate curry. Curry is one of the most popular dishes
in India and Japan. I have never met a person who
doesn't like curry in Japan. Maybe Indian and
Japanese have the same sense of taste.

Even on English boards many people can write only
few shitty words. I think it's much better to express
one's opinions or to vent one's feelings than to
write meaningless words. I suppose they have neither
opinions nor feelings. Especially young people play
computer or video games too much, and they have lost
many things.

There is a strange clerk in our English conversation
school.  He loves studying English, and passed the
pre-first grade of English Proficiency Test. But he
always avoids talking with English teachers. Even if
some English teachers ask him for help, he always
says, "I'm busy now", and never tries to help them.
I'm wondering what he is studying English for.
In Japan there are a lot of English learners like him
who fundamentally lack in communication skills.
It's no wonder that the clerk is almost 40, but is still
single.
The most important thing for him is to build up his
character. Such people do more harm than good, like
trollers on the boards.
If you want to come to Japan, be careful.

Curry is also very popular in England.

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-03 12:46

Are there any nations who don't eat curry?

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-03 15:58

I have no experience with curry. It seems that in some ways, I have lived quite a deprived life so far. :(

On the other hand, we do have fried catfish, which goes a long way to counter-balancing that lack.

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-03 17:21

We eat eel, too. Rice with eel is so tasty.

Do japanese people prefer western or squat toliets? Is there a toliet with built-in video guided bidet and anus washer, but that you can squat on comfortably? The hi-tech toliets do not function well when you squat, which is the prefered position anatomically.

Michael Medved was fed while wrapped around his own head, dead in the bed with thread in the bread.

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-04 5:04

Many Japanese people now prefer western toilets.
If you visit a family in a big city, they will have
a western toilet. In rural areas, many still use
squat toilets.

Even tortoises need to take a walk, otherwise they will
get stressed out. No animals can endure endless stress.
Not only humans but also animals have to get relief
from stress. But it's very easy to keep a tortoise. My
pet tortoise hasn't eaten anything for a week, but he is
still fine. Maybe the animals that are usually in
hibernation don't have to eat much in winter, I think.
